Wah raya sakan Sheryl...

I still have not finished shopping baju raya for my nieces and nephews-something that we do every year. Was at Metro yesterday but didn't buy anything because they said that the sale will start middle of the month.

Okaylah tu..cover 1st to 3rd raya. I masa kecik-kecik dulu demand baju tidur raya and seluar dalam raya....hehehehe

Yes, Metro mesti sale punya. For card members, the sale has started.

Besides Metro, my sis said masjid india's version of Tom Abang Saufi's fashion dah berlambak kat situ.

No lah... Believe it or not, I've never been to Masjid India during Ramadhan.
But my nieces semua dapat baju raya ala Tom this year from my sis... :lol: Rugi anak I boy....

I knew it you'll be laughing re. my name. Sempatlah jugak rasa ayu with that name for half a day. Sebenarnya, I pun gelak gak when Sheryl refer to me as Lina.

Bestnnnye boleh guna last year's baju raya. I can't do that to my son because it's either he grows out of it or the pants (part lutut) dah koyak sebab jatuh.

my kids memang best coz baju either can hands down or boleh pakai at least 2 tahun, hehehe. Not that they didn't grow tapi entah la tak tau kenapa. recently i put aside baju yang dah tak leh pakai.. boleh tahan jugak banyaknya. Ialah, "gerabak" i kan panjang :)

anyways, sidetrack sikit, ada ke tempat yang i boleh hantar those bajus eh? kalau tak de, i think i nak kena buang jugak la nampak gaya. sayang actually coz ada yang still OK tapi memang my kids dah tak leh pakai. if ada yang tahu ke mana boleh disalurkan, pls let me know eh..

ehh, myself dah bertahun beraya dengan perut i yang macam tong drum. best apa......solid reason tak payah pakai full malay dress. huduhnye bila kena pakai.

Good question Rose. I pun ada gak yang tak bagi-bagi lagi orang. We had a project with rumah-rumah anak yatim and when I spoke to them memanglah dah tak heran with baju dah pakai. They prefer new ones...

Sometimes it's better to give them away bila you balik kampung (if you still have one lah) Depa lagi appreciate.

But last Sunday, I tengok Nona about a grandma who is taking care of her 3 grandchildren, kesian pulak. Imagine that she goes to market to kutip ikan-ikan yang tercicir on the floor and vege yang orang dah buang just to feed the kids...Tapi they just give account number with no address.

haven't bought anything for myself, and don't plan to. i think it's been at least two years since i got myself baju raya (ni excluding the black baju melayu i had to get for ccd la, which was a necessity). kalau beli pun, jarang pakai. so, no need to buy la.

i have three plastic bags (beg plastik sampah hitam tu, because takde beg plastik lain yang cukup besar) full of baju to be given away, and i think my mom will be passing it one of her mualaf friends to be given away to the appropriate parties.

Ala.. lelaki senang jeks.. just nak pilih kaler.. pompuan lagi payah nak choose baju tau.. baju kebaya la..kurung le.. baju kurung kedah la.. duuhh.. buhsan la..anyway, I don't have any baju raya yet.. :( pakai jeans je la raya nie.. :P

Following some of the discussions - I sometimes collect the bajus, foodstuff etc and hand them over to this charity house kat Kuala Selangor, Rumah Hashimiah. It houses anak yatim, budak2 kurang upaya, orang2 tua pun ada. Basically, it's a charity home - sapa2 pun ada masuk. Orang2 famous nya abang/anak pun ada. But sad thing about it is that it is not funded by the government; it's run by ehsan orang2 lah.

They've been getting some publicity these past few years. While this is good, sebab they've managed to get some corporate sponsors to do up their place (now ada attap zink kat tempat makan, dulu tutup canvas je), tapi these also means more people are aware of the Homes and as such, they've been receiving more people than ever. And like I said, they run on charity from people so kadang2 tu sepit jugak. Like Kak Ana (who runs the home with her husband) said, kadang2 kalau takde duit tu, makan sardin and sayur je lah. The first time I went there I rasa sedih sangat - because the home tu macam run-down sikit (it's just an old "balai raya" and the separate sleeping quarters for boys & girls - and they have no beds, tidur atas tilam on the floor je, TV/lepak area kat luor bawah bumbung zink).

Last time I went they have about erm 200 plus people kot? I'd like to paste some pictures of them here but I don't know how to eheheh *ketawa malu*.

Anyway, Rose and Hazlina (kan?) this is just a long-winded way to say that if you have extra bajus, I'll be glad to take it from you and then I can hand over to them whenever I go there next.

Or perhaps this Forum can make a trip sana as a group activity? :D

Your boss is very creative! Hmm... baju batik is really an issue for some as the handwritten batik is considered expensive.

Not in Kelantan though. Particularly if one buys in bulk in one of those factories. As for me, I have quite a number of baju batik as my mum loves batik malaysia. Sure I do love 'em too, but when it comes to ironing..... phew! :P

I love the tom-like-but-cheaper(of course) batik. cumanya they said the kain 'memeri'. hmm... but mine hasn't memeri (yet)

Leen, I think we can think of something. Since we are doing the Perjumpaan Raya thingy, why not some or part of the fund we collected for the makan2 thing we salur kan some to the Rumah Hashimah Insya ALLAH. Jadi boleh lah sama rata semua dapat Pahala nya kan??

Maybe we can work something out regards to this kan Leen...

I will disucss with Nurul & Rose & sapa2 yg interested with this idea...

Pakcik, you must learn a no.1 rule. Never question a woman about their shoes or handbags collections. They have that permanent virus in them called "imelda m virus" symptom. Unlike the "diamond virus" which comes once in a VERY VERY BLUE moon you see.

So, if you have a gf or wife, be prepared during PMS season, the "imelda m virus" sometimes "resurface" without warning. The signs are there if you notice. Mall hopping - ATM machine visits - Itchy hands and the next thing you know, she has couple of shoes or handbags in her hands. :lol: :P

for the last raya, i managed to buy a pair of baju for my 4 kids coz ada one time tu i kena pegi training kat Centrepoint Bandar Utama so dah terlanjur dekat dengan One Utama, pegi la Jusco. ada la pusing 2 jam kat situ coz tak banyak choice. Orang kat dalam Jusco tu pun kurang sangat coz memang baju tak cantik pun :( also, malam raya i bought new shoes for Mirza and Kamilia coz kasut depa dah uzur and in Kamilia's case, kasut dia semua kakak or abang punya, hehehe. But Mirza yang lagi suka pakai selipar tu, will carry around his new shoes while he still wears the old Spiderman slippers :? evntho ada rasa nak geram when he just carry the shoes around, tapi he's so cute when he does that :)
