Frappr - cool app.

sorry, been busy moving offices and stuff, but i found this website the other day

http://www.frappr.com/ (FRAPPR is short for Friends Mapper)

you can create your own group and have everyone add themselves to the map (it looks like this is using some APIs from Google Earth)

anyhow - Liverpool fans, please add yourself to the LFCFans Frappr :)

the level of detail for big cities is awesome/scary

some interesting Frapprs are mentioned in their blog (Target Stores, Famous people etc :) )

Maps are something very related to what I do for a living. Will surely check that site out.

Had an idea of doing something similar, but never had the resources to actually execute the plan. Oh well, success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. ;)

Frappr appears to be more inspiration than perspiration* - well, at least the maps part is most probably using APIs from Google Maps; the rest of the site is mainly simple DB queries and updates. They are trying to add more functionality but those revolve around the db manipulation more than anything

did you download Google Earth?

* not to say that putting up the site is perspiration-less, but it isn't that difficult either
