desire is nudity

"Desire reduces us to weakness."

I was reminded by a voice within to share something of extraordinary nature with those who may want to hear or rather read about what I have to tell. As a matter of fact, it is so ordinary to tell stories, to tell tales. What makes it extraordinary is the story, the tale that is being told.

So here I find myself about to tell something that has been told to me, only I had the advantage of not just listening to it but also watching what was in it. Yes, there was also the reading part as my eyes moved between watching the acts and reading the subtitles at the bottom of the screen. It was to me a disturbing fictional film based on the novel written by some French novelist whom I can't seem to recall his name.

"Ma Mere", literally means "My Mother", is about 17-year old Pierre, played by Louis Garrel of Bertolucci's The Dreamers. He is a teenager who is full of confusion, no clue of where he is heading, what he is wanting. Award winning French actress, Isabelle Huppert is his mother who is still the same old wild woman who celebrates life in every sensual way as a way of independence. She defies rules and nature's way of ordinary life.

Clash of culture may prevent one from believing what he is seeing. An expressionism of sort, "Ma Mere" features a strong narration and cast, and filled with sensuality and nudity - which to me, is but a way of an honest presentation of story telling, though some quarters may totally object to being different, being extraordinary. Still, how long must we remain the same, lame? I know for certain I will continue retelling what I have been told.

Do I then, continue living to continue telling?
