well guys... i'd demolish it!!!! At first I was shocked to discover that the porch of HH had been torn down coz i thought that it had something to do with the new AC but I didn't take further notice until I discovered that they had dug big square holes up front at the edge of the quadrangle. Then alarm bells started to ring. So the next day, i walked up to the workers and asked to see the plan. They allowed me to... hmmm... lucky break. And POW!!! The drawings hit me like a brick from the sky! The porch will be replaced with a very graeco roman kampung melayu like porch! There will be six pillars to support this huge beast. And guess what? It's not necessary for the air cond! It's changed because ade architect JKR yang GATAL TANGAN and whose OTAK dah patut buang ke SUNGAI PERAK!! Well you see, the design will change the character of Hargreaves Hall and definitely will change the quadrangle's as well. I cannot understand why the architect just pasted a classical element onto a very well designed art deco 50's building. IT'S STUPIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish i could just shoot him in the hands so that he would find it difficult to design! HHHMPHHH.

I saw the plan because hasnul did scan or took a photo of the soon to be "greco roman-art deco" Bargreaves Ball porch blue print....... Like hasnul wrote, it looks like a kampung melayu porch where the owner just got his loan approved from BCB.

So Hasnul, could you please post the plan of the porch.....

Just to be sarcastic, I think the architect should incorporate the electric gates together, just like in the iklan BCB. And a chandelier inside the hall, just like the iklan BCB. Then we can all stare with our jaws wide open, and Yu Fang comes into the scene, saying "TAK PERCAYA KE?".

rough, thanks for the clarification, but unfortunately, everyone seems to think that hassan hashim is the man responsible for all of this hehe. unless you can do something like MIB, then it would take a humongous amount of effort to convince the old boys otherwise. i mean, even people like who were around during his time think that he's the one for ruining koleq.

As far as I know hasnul is in kuala at the moment. Ishak ariffin did post something about hasnul's comment in the comnet...... it's just ugly.

rizal, about time some sort of action was taken for this heinous act, although it is a little too late for that. i wonder why the plan wasn't discussed with the board of governors first, if it wasn't la. and from abu's pictures, memang nampak teruk, which is a gross understatement. dah la nampak the pillars are out of place, add to that the rubbish from this unnecessary construction, it's a recipe for disaster.

i was once told that ade la sorang ahli PIBG yg cadangkan the old swimming pool tu dikambus je ... but doesnt it has its own historical value and is part of the institution yg dikatakan warisan bangsa & negara.

bile dilihat dari dekat during obw hari tu, the pillars cant be called roman pillars - takde rupa/ciri roman langsung
